Fellini 6th Grade Evidence Blog

Year Review

 He’s still very much into Pokemon and Minecraft but has grown a love for video games, now he plays Call of Duty, Skyrim, Flight Simulator, and Roblox. His passion for all things Greek/Roman mythology and Rick Riordan persists and he continues to listen to his audiobooks on repeat. This year we saw the Statue of Nike at the Louve in Paris! He saw the Mona Lisa, and his favorite “Le Chat”. He is now a Blue Belt in Kungfu and continues to grow. He’s not always happy to go, but always seems satisfied when he leaves. He has continued at Mathnasium for the entire year and I’ve seen improvement. I’m so proud of him and all the work he’s done. He continued to go to Take Roots every Friday but at the end of the year, he found a new home at Miami Nature School, an Acton Academy, which he will be attending full-time next year. He also took an epic trip to Alaska on top of his Christmas vacation to Paris and Germany.  This year he did so many amazing things! This kid is well-traveled.

Forest School

Fellini attended Take Roots Forest School again! He went once a week and enjoyed the time outdoors to play and discover everything about the outdoors. They learned about different Florida ecosystems at Greynolds Park, Mizell-Johnson State Park (beachside), and Big Cypress National Preserve. They did arts and crafts projects with sustainable materials, did a beach day and although he was the oldest kid there, he always looked forward to his fridays.

Toward the end of the year we went to do a trail day at Miami Nature School. We hadn’t intended on enrolling full-time but he absolutely loved it, so we finished the entire year. He really enjoyed talking politics with his instructors and used that as his end-of-the-year showcase. He liked that he could cook/make things when he wanted, so he made everyone tea. He did lots of clay work and explored his love for Algebra with Khan Academy.

Mathematics

We continued with Mathnasium 3 times a week in addition to his regular studies. We used Right Start Math Levels F & E, Learn Math Fast, and continued to work on Reflex for his multiplication facts.

Fellini’s progress report on his multiplication facts. He started at 5.2% fluency and is now 62% fluent.

Language Arts

This year we used the Torchlight program. We didn’t use the entire curriculum but used many useful parts of it and the reading list. We used Vocabulary.com to work on his vocab and word knowledge orally. We used Torchlight for written vocab and to teach how to edit. We also used  All About Spelling Level 3 and Touch Type Read and Spell. He has progressed to level 4 in TTRS. Both programs are made specifically for Dyslexic learners. He also took an online writing class through Outschool which was fantastic. The teacher always gave back personalized feedback and I just loved it. I hope we can accommodate the same course next year while he is in Nature School.

Science

This year we learned all about dinosaurs, we learned about fossils, and the story of how the world formed with the Build Your Library Dinosaur curriculum! Fellini loves science so we did plenty of other science activities and learning experiences. He learned about bees and different types of flora and fauna at Fruit and Spice Park. He learned to suture a papaya and we talked about autopsy and incisions. He learned about Geologic history, the beginnings of Earth, and the beginnings of life up to modern-day humans. The books in BYL were some excellent resources that will be with us for a long time.  Specifically, the Usborne World History Encyclopedia, When Whales Walked, Prehistoric Life on Earth, and How Much in a Million. Such great books and we learned so much together.

Fellini also had the unique opportunity to go on a Shark Tagging expedition with UM researchers.

Like everyone, we watched the eclipse and did a little activity.

Foreign Language

Fellini has continued his studies in Latin with teacher Kristen Kanipe, MA. He has advanced past the Veni Vini Vici series and into the Audentes Fortuna Luvat: Intermediate Level Latin. He’s working on part 4. The series so far is learning through discussion with less focus on writing and memorization, to foster the love of the language.

Here is what his teacher writes of him:

” Fellini is doing exceedingly well with his Latin studies. I truly could not be prouder of him. It’s not only that his understanding of the language is deepening with each class, but that he’s increasing in his confidence. Fellini has always been an engaging, imaginative, and curious learner, and he’s always been quite enthusiastic and participative in our class meetings, but I do know that there have been times when he’s felt a bit self-conscious or intimidated, and this has sometimes impacted his willingness to translate certain passages or to answer certain questions. I’ve been extremely pleased to see him feeling increasingly excited to translate even more challenging passages, and I have been impressed by how well he’s understanding the grammar. We recently spent quite a bit of time reviewing noun endings and discussing the dative case (I believe I mentioned in my previous message that Fellini demonstrated an understanding of how an indirect object (this is what we use the dative case for) functions by coming up with several sentences involving a senator harming the emperor), but in our most recent meeting, we shifted our focus back to verbs. Sometimes when we make a transition after focusing so intently on another area, things can feel a bit fuzzy, particularly when a learner has also been away from class (as Fellini was during his recent trip). Yet Fellini remembered quite a bit from our previous discussions of verbs. I get the sense that the language is coming together for him more easily; while it still requires effort (and Fellini always gives his best effort!), I think he feels increasingly comfortable with it, and this is evident in his growing excitement around translation and grammatical exercises. He’s even been keen to translate an entire story on his own! Because he is putting himself out there so much, he’s ensuring that he’s working with the language on a more intense level, and this has benefited him tremendously: I see a big difference in not only the accuracy of his translation work, but in the ease with which he seems to put the pieces together. I’ve also been incredibly impressed with the amount of vocabulary he’s been retaining. Overall, I really cannot say enough good things about his work, his attitude, and his progress, and I am so pleased to be able to offer such a stellar progress report.

Fellini is a unique and creative learner with a great sense of humor. In our last class, as we were beginning our discussion of the second person plural for verbs, I asked him if “y’all” is used much in Florida. He said it wasn’t (and that it was more of an Alabama thing!), and then he proceeded to say that many southerners say, “yeehaw, y’all!” I don’t know that this is necessarily true, but I appreciated his linking of the two sounds; he’s very clever and quick witted. Fellini makes me laugh at least once (and generally much more) in every class, and I am pleased that he seems to find the classroom such a comfortable environment.”


Extra Curricular Activities

He is still in Black Belt Club for Kungfu. He goes to Kungfu for 2 hours every Monday and Wednesday. He went to Paris in winter and visited the Louve. He saw the Mona Lisa, The Statue of Nike (which he was sure to take a picture with), and many other notable works of art. It was his second time in Paris.

He also took the most amazing vacation with his father to Oregon & Alaska! Perfect for my little scientist. He panned for Gold in Oregon, visited a dog sled team, went on a glacier (drank the water) and went on a whale watching expedition. He also visited a wild life refuge and saw many animals. Most notable and his favorite was a Moose. They also stayed in a Yurt and did some hiking up a mountain.

This year, we joined a local Wednesday Homeschool meetup group and did lots of activities. He also did Skate Science.

Welcome back, ME Trainee.

During an autopsy, the deceased’s internal organs are carefully examined to gather valuable information about their health and the circumstances surrounding their death.

The removal of organs is a crucial part of the autopsy process. Organs such as the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and brain are carefully dissected and examined by a pathologist. By examining the organs, the pathologist can identify any abnormalities, such as tumors, infections, or structural defects, that may have contributed to the individual’s death.

Documenting the body cavities in autopsy reports is essential for several reasons:

  1. Identification of abnormalities: By thoroughly documenting the body cavities, the pathologist can identify any abnormalities or injuries that may have been missed during the external examination. This includes injuries to internal organs, fractures, hemorrhages, or signs of disease that may not be immediately visible.

Clock in, and let’s get started. We had a case come into the morgue today that I thought would be highly interesting to you. The individual, a 70-year-old female originally from the highlands of New Guinea, suffered from tremors, mood changes, and an unsteady gait, which progressed to an inability to eat or stand. She was in a comatose state for six months prior to her death. She did NOT display any signs of memory loss. What do you think it could be? I will need you to dissect the brain and send a sample to pathology for testing. I’ll tell you my hypothesis and what I believe it to be, but first, let’s learn about the nervous system to give you some background before we open the skull and dissect the brain.

In the section before, we learned about The Nervous System. We learned that the nervous system is divided into higher level divisions such as the Central Nervous System (CNS) and the Peripherial Nervous System (PNS). The PNS is further divided into the Autonomic (ANS) and the Somatic nervous system (SNS). We learned about neurons and nerve impulses.  Today we will do a little more in-depth studying and learn about the different types of Neurons. Watch the video below and fill in the notes with the correct information. Remember our patient in the morgue? They had trouble with speech, standing, Ataxia (walking/coordination) and mood. I suspect that whatever caused their death had something to do with their nervous system. Keep studying to solve the case.

Year Review

What an absolutely glorious year! Fellini had an eventful 4th-grade year, to say the least. He started the year with a European vacation to his favorite places from mythology. The Parthenon and Pompeii in Greece and the Coliseum in Rome! He also visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, visited London to see some of the Harry Potter filming locations in real life, and went to the Effiel Tower in Paris, France. He’s become quite the little traveler.  He ended the year with his first promotion in KungFu, following in the footsteps of his father. He also had a long-needed and essential psychoeducational evaluation. This year he was finally, officially, diagnosed with Dyslexia and ADHD.

Mathematics


Fellini is using Teaching Textbooks Math 3 this year. We also supplemented Multiplication practice throughout the year with the help of Multiplication in 7 days, Mr. DeMaio multiplication songs, and right start multiplication games. Per the recommendation of his evaluating Psychologist, we also jumped back into Xtra Math for repetition. Because of his working memory issues, we need to make repetition an essential element of his learning pathway.


We also did a really rad geometry project-based learning assignment.






Language Arts


It was an FLVS type of year for us. I needed a curriculum that was challenging and kept us on a schedule. FLVS is perfect for this. He went back to All About Spelling an Orton-Gillingham Method that’s helpful for dyslexic students. He also has daily writing prompts. He can write about anything as long as it’s three sentences, handwritten, and has some level of complexity.

His reading this year was through FLVS and audiobooks. We are also working on reading his DnD books as a way to incorporate interesting reading. So far he’s more engaged than when we read Wings of Fire, The Horse and His Boy, or Rick Riordan books. Especially the Monster DnD guide! He’s usually pretty excited to read it.  He gets fatigued but he works through those big complex words with lots of success. I keep telling him that the more he reads, the better he’ll get and the less fatigued he’ll be…but you know, he’s ten and doesn’t believe me. One day, you will see little boy!




History


Finished STOW Vol. 3 this year. Here is an example of him creating in Minecraft. It was a fun time for him. He’d listen to the audiobook and work on creating the assignment. Later I would give him oral quizzes.


A HUGE part of his history lessons this year was all the traveling he did. One specific place of mention was the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam. We went and traveled back in time to war-torn Amsterdam and spent some time inside the hidden annex. What a tragic tale but what an important part of history. He also made it to The Globe Theater in London, the Coliseum in Rome, the old senate (where Julius Caeser died!), the ancient town of Pompeii, Mt. Vesuvius, and the Parthenon in Athens.

Year Review

What an absolutely glorious year! Fellini had an eventful 4th-grade year, to say the least. He started the year with a European vacation to his favorite places from mythology. The Parthenon and Pompeii in Greece and the Coliseum in Rome! He also visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, visited London to see some of the Harry Potter filming locations in real life, and went to the Effiel Tower in Paris, France. He’s become quite the little traveler.  He ended the year with his first promotion in KungFu, following in the footsteps of his father. He also had a long-needed and essential psychoeducational evaluation. This year he was finally, officially, diagnosed with Dyslexia and ADHD.

Mathematics


Fellini is using Teaching Textbooks Math 3 this year. We also supplemented Multiplication practice throughout the year with the help of Multiplication in 7 days, Mr. DeMaio multiplication songs, and right start multiplication games. Per the recommendation of his evaluating Psychologist, we also jumped back into Xtra Math for repetition. Because of his working memory issues, we need to make repetition an essential element of his learning pathway.


We also did a really rad geometry project-based learning assignment.

It was an FLVS type of year for us. I needed a curriculum that was challenging and kept us on a schedule. FLVS is perfect for this. Year in Review

Jesse had an interesting year. She has switched from mainly being taught by me, mom, to more independent forms of school. She prefers it! We started the year trying out Well Trained Mind Academy and found that it was too hard, so we switch to solely Florida Virtual School. I’ve been very proud of her in that her work is excellent and she does a really great job of submitting her assignments and tracking what’s due.  She is after all, an 11/12 year old so she still needs some guidance to improve her work quality, but all things considered, she did great working independently. She really enjoyed learning to play guitar and singing this year. She started Muay Thai about a month ago and is getting better and better as time goes on. She also has decided to be gender fluid this year and has changed her preferred name to Jesse. Pronouns are still the same but may change. She had a year full of travel! She went to France, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands! She saw The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Anne Frank’s Secret Annex, and the Effiel Tower among other things.  What a great year full of adventure.

Mathematics


Yesenia worked on teaching textbooks this year. She tried hard in every lesson, consistently did well, and scored a 95% average in the course. She’s still completing it over the summer. She really prefers to be an independent learner and has enjoyed the course because of that. The course material covers long division, multiplication, fractions, decimals, and mixed fractions.


Language Arts


This year Yesenia used FLVS and earned a B with an 85% average. She did compare and contrast, research, and narrative writing. This year her big project was to read The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and create a commercial for it. She didn’t add any of the effects she wrote in her treatment. This coming school year I’m going to work more closely with her now that Fellini will be in school because she needs a little more accountability.

Her preferred reading these days is fanfiction and comic books! She spends most of her day reading ( and sometimes creating) stories from her favorite fandoms.


History


Yesenia finished the Story of The World Vol. 3.  She worked it with Minecraft and answered questions after each chapter.

Last year she had read Anne Frank’s Diary. THIS year she went and actually visited the annex in Amsterdam.


Geography


Geography/History this year was literally traveling the world! She went to France, Germany, Netherlands, and Italy.  Here are some of the pictures from her adventures around the world.



Japanese


Yesenia takes Japanese lessons once a week and is still taking them with Ms. Mayuko.


Science


Yesenia started the year with a Chemistry Class from WTM but we immediately disenrolled. She hated it and it really felt like a high school-level chemistry class. We switched her to the Deering Estate and she did much better. At Deering Estate they switched learning topics from Marine Biology to Wilderness. She also enjoyed making a few new friends.


Music


She took guitar and singing the first half of the year. Here is her first recital.


Art


Yesenia continued on her animation path. She enrolled in the Animation Course and took a basic animation class. The course was really good because it was taught by a former animator and graded by current working animators. Here’s some examples of her work.


She also took Art on FLVS for the first semester and was an actor in The Royal Chessmen show at the Camelot Days Renaissance Faire.

Mathematics


Fellini is still working with Right Start this year. We are chugging along, and he’s doing great. He likes most of the games except for corners, but he really has gotten so much better at it since the beginning of the school year. I like to remind him where he’s coming from and how much better he’s gotten. Here is PDF of his schoolwork completed thus far.


Language Arts


This year Fellini worked with an occupational therapist to work on his letter reversal through handwriting. It helped some. He needed to work on his writing and she really helped develop his letter writing.

We used Spell Zone and dictation to work on spelling this year. I would read a passage to him, and he would spell it out loud to me while I wrote it on the board. This served two purposes. So he wouldn’t get frustrated erasing if he got it wrong, and so he could work on spelling words with some of the rules we learned in All About Spelling. We will continue working on the program the next year.

For reading, he read Charlotte’s Web out loud to me, mostly by himself! This was such a big step ahead of working with the All About Reading programs. I was so proud of him. His comprehension assignment was to work on his own creative story based on characters from Charlotte’s Web. He choose one of the baby spiders who flew away on a spider parachute and wrote this lovely story. It is still a work in progress.  He also had to write a dictionary based on new words we learned in Charlotte’s Web.

Next reading assignment was Wings of Fire, a graphic novel and then we switched to the Wings of Fire full-length novel. We still have work to do until he’s completely competent in reading on his own, but we are in a good place. Here is his reading log for the year.

Lastly, I wanted to include a fun project they completed for the presidential inauguration this year. They both drafted and performed their own inauguration speeches! Here is his valiant effort.


History


We started the first 6 chapters of STOW Vol. 3 this summer. We’re on a break now, but will continue throughout the next school year. The kids have enrolled in a Minecraft STOW class and I’m excited to see what they create! To be continued in August…


Geography


Geography this year started out with the basics. The continents, the oceans, the cardinal directions. Then we switched to a week-by-week study of the continent of Africa. We keep it very simple. Watch a video (Geography Now! videos on Youtube), have a short discussion and write in our Geography notebooks. The kids loved the Geography Now! videos and would often ask for them outside of school.


Foreign Language


Fellini started off the year with an enthusiasm to learn Japanese. He used Duolingo app on his iPad. I think he questions his ability to learn a language and felt like he wasn’t learning much. He has a very slight communication problem, he finds it hard to put his ideas into words, so I think that’s where it comes from. He came to me with the desire to learn sign language halfway through the school year. I agreed, and now in retrospect, I truly believe it was a great idea. Perhaps learning a language with more concrete and tactile concepts will give him the confidence he needs to learn a new language. We use a tutor through TakeLessons who is actually deaf, a native speaker of sign language! He’s enjoyed the classes thus far.


Science


Science-this year we used The Elements: Ingredients of the Universe by Ellen Johnston Mchenry as our science curriculum. We learned all about electrons, protons, and neutrons. We explored the periodic table. They memorized elements 1-50 and the element groups for the memory work this year. We also did lots of fun experiments! Slime of course is always a given, but we found how to detect oxygen, make molecules out of food, and launched a homemade rocket. We also played cards with our periodic table matching games.

Here is a video of him reciting the periodic table. The kids learned it using the Aseop Science periodic table song.

This year Fellini also spent half the year taking classes at the Deering Estate. It was a drop-off program, so I didn’t get a ton of pictures, but they would spend the day at the estate learning about Marine biology or wildlife! The themes would switch month to month. This class also propelled them to learn how to ride bikes without training wheels, because there was a day where the whole class brought in their bikes and rode through the rock pineland. How cool! Some other cool things they did were wade through the swamp discovering animals, dissect a lionfish, kayak and also create a pH indicator out of red cabbage. He loved this class so much, he is going again the next school year.


Music


This year we switched completely and took drum lessons! We had an excellent teacher who can 2x a week to teach them through pop songs.


Art


Fellini tried his hand at Flip a clip this year, following in his sister’s footsteps. Flip a clip is an animation app for iPad.

We continued working with Right Start moving on to Right Start Level E this year CLICK HERE FOR PDF . Yesenia still did not like the games in the Right Start although I thought they were great. This year we touched on multiplication, division, geometry, and fractions. Yesenia also started working with Beast Academy. The questions from BA are very challenging so they don’t really correspond to the grade levels exactly.  The questions certainly stop and make you think! We started at 3A worked together to answer the questions that left her stumped (to be fair, it took a lot of trial and error for me too!) She always liked the Brightside puzzles so I thought let’s give BA a try!






Language Arts


This year for Language Arts, Yesenia used Spell Zone and Vocabulary from Classical Roots, LVL 5. The vocab book is especially great because it breaks down the vocab by root words which really helps you to decode words in general. She gets weekly verbal quizzes.

She read the Diary of Anne Frank graphic novel which culminated in a visit to the Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach and a short creative writing essay based on Anne’s time spent in the Annex.  We are planning a visit to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam this September while we are in Germany visiting Yesenia’s father.

Yesenia also read Radioactive: Marie & Pierre Curie: A Tale of Love and Fallout by Lauren Redniss. Marie Curie is Yesenia’s favorite scientist and so we capitalized on that enthusiasm and incorporated it into our reading for the year. To show her comprehension, Yesenia made a poster with ten facts that she learned from the book! It’s going to be useful next year because we plan to continue on the exploration of Chemistry with an online class at WTM institute that includes a written assignment on a famous scientist. 

Mostly her free-form writing assignments were tailored to her interests.  She used her time to write fanfics of her favorite show, My Hero Academia. She also was given time to write character descriptions for the animated series she is in the process of creating.

Yesenia wanted to switch to Japanese this year! She loves all things Japan and anime so of course I obliged and said yes! We explored the periodic table. They memorized elements 1-50 and the element groups for the memory work this year. We also did lots of fun experiments! Slime of course is always a given, but we found how to detect oxygen, make molecules out of food, and launched a homemade rocket. We also played cards with our periodic table matching games.

This year we switched completely and took Ukeule lessons! We had an excellent teacher who can 2x a week to teach them through pop songs.


Art


Yesenia continued on her animation path. She moved into creating original characters on Procreate on the iPad. She is currently taking classes with 21 Draw to learn how to shadow better and draw those pesky hands!

She loves to create little gifs of her drawings. She even made a cute gif for her friend’s birthday.

Yesenia has been dreaming up an animation series, all full of original characters and stories. It’s a big and daunting project so we are taking it slowly. She currently is working on character descriptions.

She also got a lesson from her step-father on how to edit videos with Adobe Premiere. She plans to reopen her YouTube channel with original content.

Fellini created a story based on his reading of Charlotte’s Web. It’s about one of Charlotte’s babies. It will be an installment story, so stay tuned for more!

The Adventures of Narlotte and Carlotte

PART I

Once there was a little spider called Narlotte. He traveled to the moon and he made a little home. Then he found another spider, Carlotte, they went on several million journeys. This story is about one. 

It all began, when a moonrat stole their cake. They were having a peaceful, quiet picnic when something darted to the east and the cake was gone! Narlotte saw a moonrat running to the east. And then, they went on a fierce journey following it to its home. Then the rat pointed with its white nose, to a message. They realized this moonrat wasn’t trying to steal their cake, but he was trying to make them follow him to his home.

On the ceiling, there was an ancient text. One of the spiders pushed it.  They heard a door opening. There was a sword, a shield, a bow, a quiver, and a spear. At that moment, the rat then pulled its white nose over its head and revealed himself to be a blue shriveled creature.

PART II

The blue creature revealed its name to be The Tiger of the East. The Tiger of the East, led them here because there was a crisis on the moon. There was tons of lava coming up from deep in the moon’s core. It spewed out! In 25 days, the moon would explode! Right then and there they realized they needed to add a new person to their team. His name was, Goe. Goe was a chicken. They needed him because how were they to save the moon with two people? So they added three. Goe was fast, agile, knew thirty more karate moves than the greatest karate master and Goe was also the champion of the Parkour Festival in the village. So The Tiger of the East, Carlotte, and Narlotte packed up their new gear and set off to find Goe. After they left the shrine, a pigeon flew from the sky…to try to eat them!

PART III

The pigeon started cuddling Narlotte. When Narlotte was coming up from the earth years ago, he needed some pigeon power. So, he got a pigeon! Its name was Neon. Neon was there to take them to the village to find Goe, he wasn’t there to eat them. At the festival, Goe was doing some karate moves in front of the crowd. There were great karate moves, After the festival, they went up to Goe.

 They said to him “ Wanna join our team?” 

He said, “No, unless you guys can beat me in karate.” 

Gasp. 

They said, “You’re on, we’ll fight you tomorrow at 3 pm sharp.” 

The team went back to their secret moon base where The Tiger of the East advised them what to do next. They trained into the night and were ready to fight.

PART IV

The next afternoon at 3 pm Goe said “I’m gonna win and you’re gonna lose”. Then they fought. Narlotte shot an arrow, Carlotte threw the javelin. Tiger of the East hit Goe, and Goe said “ A deal’s a deal. You win the fight. Let’s go kick some butt. “Neon flew from the moon sky and landed with a thump. Neon grabbed them and they all flew away. They flew back to the base to plan for the journey.

Yesenia created this story after reading the Graphic Novel of Anne Frank’s Diary.

Day 1

My family was forced into hiding for being in the place with the highest infection rates, America. If we showed our faces ever we would be killed. So we went into a secret place in Tokyo, Japan. Some Japanese folks there took pity on us Americans and gave us a private jet to take there. The secret place was something like the Annex but way bigger. We had to be careful to not make much noise so the police couldn’t hear us. For our meals, we are going to have anything that our helpers have for us so it will be mostly fish. And there was bubble gum, can you believe it!?

Day 30

Today we are having our first day of school, it is hard doing school without making noise. I usually mistake a word when I am learning Japanese because I can barely hear it! Math is easy for me, spelling is ok and history is hard. I hope this doesn’t last long.

Day 40

Today we get to watch a tv show, we get to watch only one show one day of the week. Hiding in the loft is NOT fun so this is the most fun we have. The thing is they go so fast. I wish that it could feel like the show is two hours.

Day 50

The hiding spot is boring! The only thing that would make it not boring is friends! It is scientifically proven that friends make everything fun! Plus my friends are super special to me, I don’t like not seeing them. But drawing keeps me entertained but I would like to have friends with me, welp see you another day.

Day 60

Corona SUCKS! Where do I even begin? We can’t go outside, we can die, we have to wear itchy masks, we can’t contact friends cause police, AND WE STILL HAVE TO GO TO SHCOOL! But there are some ups. I can finally get my space and have quiet time but that’s all. Man, not too many pros and a lot of cons.

Day 70   

Today is Christmas and we are allowed to let one friend over for a sleepover. My one friend choice is Penelope who is also hiding in Japan. This will be so much fun we are going to watch my neighbor Totoro and eat popcorn and open up presents on Christmas morning. It will be really fun, this will be the best day ever!

Day 90

We are getting a pound of sugar today our helpers (who names were Ying and Yang) got us some at the black market. This is super exciting we are all going to bake something with it. I made brownies and my brother made a cake. This is so lucky and so tasty. Uh oh, I think I have a sugar rush WHEEEEEEEE!

Day 100

Yesterday a new family will be staying with us. They are the Charlie family. They have a daughter named Marie, she lives in Wisconsin and loves to play pranks. Me and her become fast friends, we love to play pranks on our parents, draw and talk. We love to talk, we talk, and we talk, that’s a whole lot. We talk about cats, piggy, treats, and movies, we have so much in common. This is a great upside to hiding.

Day 188

I am going insane! I have been caught hitting my head against the wall, not going to sleep and mumbling. I hope I can snap out of it I am pretty sure I will.

Day 200

WE CAN FINALLY GO! Scientists have found a vaccine and are giving them out. I am so glad I really wanted to breathe fresh air, read a book, and see my friends again…..and also play Roblox, piggy, and watch YouTube. Welp, I am glad this is all over, goodbye.
